Located around 25 minutes from the 4-star Village Eskualduna campsite<\/strong> in Hendaye<\/a>, Biarritz<\/strong> has been famous for its close ties with royalty for almost two centuries. Having become a fashionable seaside resort thanks to Empress Eugenie, the town is now a leading destination for surfing, golf, beaches and shopping… Take a day trip to discover the elegant architecture on the waterfront, which bears witness to a prestigious past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biarritz campsite and beaches<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As you’ve already guessed, Biarritz is on the ocean, and therefore famous for its beaches. The choice is yours: the Large beach<\/strong>. For surfers, the C\u00f4te des Basque (#1 beach on Tripadvisor), or Marbella and the more accessible Milady, with its large parking lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the same theme, there’s also the Biarritz Aquarium <\/strong>(formerly the Mus\u00e9e de la Mer), and the Cit\u00e9 de l’Oc\u00e9an <\/strong>: the former is located right in the center of town, opposite the Rocher de la Vierge, with a large 1500m3 tank filled with hammerhead sharks, rays and barracudas. Perfect for children. The second is a theme park oriented, as its name suggests, towards the ocean and surfing, with fun and scientific workshops and activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also recommend a stroll through the town center: start with a short stopover at the Port Vieux, pass by the Rocher de la Vierge<\/strong>, and take a dip at the Grande Plage. You’ll enjoy some of the best views in town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biarritz is also known for its many bars, restaurants and nightlife. There’s something for every taste and budget. Biarritz has a luxury label, with its H\u00f4tel du Palais, thalasso, golf course and high-end boutiques, but it’s not just that. We recommend the Halles district, with its many small bars and shops, and its superb atmosphere, full of locals and tourists alike. On your way back from Biarritz, stop off in Anglet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
