From Hendaye, it’s a 15-minute drive to Irun by car or public transport. How do I get from Hendaye to Irun in Spain?

To get to Irun from the Hendaye Eskualduna campsite, you have several options.

By car, it takes just 15 minutes to get to Spain and visit the border town. If you don’t have a car, or if you’d rather leave it at home for the duration of your stay, you’ll have no trouble getting there! In fact, Hendaye is very close to its Spanish neighbor, making it easy to reach by public transport. In summer, a bus runs daily, every hour from 10.30am to 8.30pm, between Hendaye and Irun, departing from the Tourist Office. All year round, you can also choose the train option, which will cost you no more than €5 each way. From Hendaye station, take the E2 line (EuskoTren company) towards Lasarte-Oria and stop at Irun station. In less than 5 minutes, you’ll have arrived. Trains run every 25 minutes all year round.

Near Irún, you can also take the bus to Hondarribia. This other Spanish town will take you to the heights of the Basque coast on Mount Jaizkibel. From up there, admire the great beaches of Hondarribia and Hendaye, with their natural border, the Bidassoa. At the end of your stroll through these medieval towns and harbors, return to your vacation rental at the campsite near Irun Eskualduna to relax in comfort.
