The Pyrénées-Atlantiques is a land of contrasts, with snow-capped mountains on one side and verdant plains on the other. The village of Navarrenx, capital of salmon, is the only commune in the Béarn region to have been awarded the “Most Beautiful Villages in France” label. Strolling around the city walls is a real treat.

The Grottes de Bétharram, discovered in 1810, can be visited along a 2.8-kilometre route by small train, boat or on foot. Unforgettable for young and old alike.

Lake Bious Artigues, near the Pic du Midi. If you want to spend a day in unspoilt wilderness, this is the place to be.

The Artouste train, the highest in Europe, offers one of the most exceptional rides above the Soussouéou valley. It’s our favourite!

Villa Arnaga, Edmond Rostand’s former home in Cambo-les-Bains, has become one of France’s finest museums. A visit to the estate offers a glimpse into the life of the author of Cyrano de Bergerac, and 15 hectares of sublime English and French gardens.
