In 1959, Franck KEHRIG created the campsite on the family’s 10-hectare estate comprising meadows, woods and a 13th century Basque farmhouse. In 1998, his son Philippe KEHRIG became manager.
Constantly striving to adapt to our clients’ needs, we regularly improve our establishment by renewing our rental accommodation and refurbishing our playgrounds and living spaces. Everything we do is carried out with respect for the environment. We are open 7 months a year.
An Eco-friendly campsite
Our campsite nestles in the heart of a listed “Remarkable Site” on the Basque Coastal Road, at the edge of the 65-hectare Abbadia Natural Park, which belongs to the Coastal Conservation Authority. This beautiful natural environment has always inspired our highest respect and this has been acknowledged with 2 eco-labels that are recognized throughout Europe.
For us, for you and for future generations, we have organized the Campsite so as to minimize its environmental impact: 100% renewable source electricity, low-energy lightbulbs and automation-controlled lighting, a recycling centre, annual planting of over 350 trees and shrubs, the creation of hedgerows, wooden terraces and “green” carparks, no chemical-based pesticides, electrical vehicles inside the campsite, and financing the shuttle bus to provide a means of free public transport.
A “Tourism and Handicap” certified campsite
We could not imagine respecting the environment without respecting people. So we have carried out all the necessary building works to welcome people with reduced mobility. In 2005, we built a large reception area accessible to disabled people. We have also adapted our sanitary facilities and offer specially designed mobile-homes for people in wheelchairs. In 2006, we obtained “Tourism and Handicap” Certification.
